After 99 years of service to the Greater Paterson community, Barnert Hospital officially closed its doors on February 1, 2008. All inpatients have been discharged to nearby facilities. Barnert Hospital, following discussions with the state’s Department of Health, has closed its Emergency Department We thank our dedicated physicians, nurses and employees for their many years of service to Barnert Hospital. Several private doctors rent space in the hospital. Their offices remain open and they can be contacted directly for an appointment or information. Copies of medical records and radiology images are available during business hours by using the emergency room entrance and signing in with the security guard on duty. All meetings held by community and support groups will no longer be held at the hospital.
